Privacy policy

Overview

Field Game provides fixtures, results, standings, tournament information, laws, live match updates, player availability, team sheets, season reports, and match administration for Eton College Field Game. This policy covers both the website and the iOS app.

Information we handle

• Public match information: fixtures, teams, houses, pitches, umpires, results, standings, tournament data, and live match events.
• Account information: email address, name, role, house assignment, and authentication identifiers for authorised Players, Captains, and Administrators.
• Matchday information: availability responses and optional notes, team selections, squad numbers, and player contribution records.
• Device preferences: chosen house, school team, appearance, bookmarks, bracket predictions, and cached match information stored locally on your device.
• Service information: limited technical and usage information needed to operate, secure, diagnose, and understand use of the service.

How we use information

We use this information to authenticate users, show the correct house and role experience, collect availability, prepare and publish team sheets, calculate season reports, operate live scoring, keep fixtures and results accurate, provide offline access, prevent misuse, and improve reliability.

Who can see private matchday information

Availability responses, notes, team sheets, and season reports require an authorised account. Access is restricted by role and house. Captains and Administrators can manage information needed for their teams; Players can view and update information made available to them. Private player pages are not intended for public sharing.

Service providers

Field Game uses service providers to deliver the product:

• Supabase provides database, authentication, and server infrastructure.
• Vercel hosts the website and provides privacy-focused product analytics and operational telemetry.
• Apple distributes the iOS app and may process App Store diagnostics according to your Apple settings.
• Weather and map-related features may request public forecast or location-reference data; Field Game does not require continuous device-location tracking.

We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising.

Storage and retention

Account and matchday information is stored on our servers for as long as it is needed to operate the service, maintain accurate sporting records, meet safeguarding or administrative needs, and resolve disputes. Device preferences and cached data remain until you clear browser data, change the preference, sign out where applicable, or delete the app. Retention may vary by record type.

Your choices

You can change local preferences in the product and sign out of your account. To ask what account information is held, correct an assignment, request deletion where appropriate, or get help accessing an account, use the contact details below. Sporting and safeguarding records may need to be retained even after an account is closed.

Pupils and school use

Field Game is designed for a school sporting context and may be used by pupils. Private features are provisioned and role-restricted rather than offered as open public registration. Users should not place sensitive medical, safeguarding, or unrelated personal information in availability notes.

Security

We use authenticated access and role-based permissions to protect private information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Report suspected unauthorised access promptly and do not share account credentials or fixture access codes.
